Clinton's ability to govern hurt by scandal

President Clinton is planning to sue two leading newspapers for libel since he claims his reputation has been ruined. The President and his advisor Jordan, meet the representatives of the newspaper and try to reach a compromise in order to avoid legal action.

still remains high. Neither has it hampered his ability to govern.
 
  1. President Clinton had an affair with Gennifer Flowers, the cabaret
singer, which he denied in his 1992 campaign for the presidency.

Last Saturday, he acknowledged it.
 
 

  1. Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee sued Clinton for sexual
harassment. Clinton denied it.
 
  1. Miss Lewinsky, claims she had sexual relationship with President Clinton
while she was working in the White House. She says Clinton forced her to

lie. She also says she has tape recordings secretly made of earlier talks with

him. Clinton denied under oath he had an affiar with Lewinsky, but

admitted giving her personal gifts.

  1. Should a president endure questions about his self-discipline, his morals,
and his honesty? (and questions about his sex life..) Are all these questions legitimate? Do the American people have the

right to get all these answers?

  1. prosecutor Kenneth Starr may soon compel Lewinsky to testify in the case
in exchange for immunity from prosecution. How convincing is her

testimony?

  1. Americans can`t focus on anything else but this case.
  2. Isn`t the whole case a “theater of the absurd?”
