December 8th, 2007
On behalf of the conference committee, of the Winter ETAI Conference
at Kaye Academic College of Education in Beer Sheva on December
6th, 2007, the members of the ETAI Board and all of the teachers
and student teachers who attended the conference, we would like
to express our heartfelt thanks to those whose support and generosity
made the very successful conference possible.
First, a great thank you to Kaye Academic College, which donated
the use of their wonderful facilities, equipment, warm and very
generous hospitality for the duration of the conference. We all
enjoyed sitting in the very comfortable and beautiful auditorium
for the opening and final sessions and benefited greatly from
the free use of all of the equipment for all of the presentations,
in addition to the efficient and prompt technical support, which
allowed the conference to proceed without a hitch.
Next, we would like to thank all the presenters who agreed to
share their ideas and experience by giving presentations and inspiring
and enriching all those who attended.
We are very grateful to Dr.Judy Steiner, Chief Inspector for
English Language Education, Ms. Shirley Burg, Inspector for English
Language Education in the South as well as all of the regional
inspectors and "madrichot", for their continued support
and for encouraging their teachers and student teachers to attend
the conference. We also greatly appreciate the heads of the English
departments and teachers of Achva, Hemdat Hadarom, Kaye, Levinsky,
and Talpiot Colleges for recognizing the contribution of participation
in ETAI conferences toward professional development. We thank
them for encouraging their students to attend the conference and
for arranging transportation to facilitate their attendance.
Our special thanks go to Ms. Nava Horovitz, ETAI chairperson,
Ms. Marna Snyder, ETAI Office Director and Anna Bondar, ETAI Winter
Conference secretary for their support and assistance.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the publishers,
whose generous donations allowed us to provide so very many delightful
extras during the day of the conference. Thanks so much to Eric
Cohen, Ari Kernerman, UPP, Wiz Kids, Lonny Cohen and English Adventure,
for "spoiling" us with doughnuts, pens, paper, sandwiches,
drinks, conference kits, flowers, name tags etc. and for helping
us make the day so pleasant for all of those who joined us.
Our sincere congratulations go to Dr. Susan Holzman and David
Lloyd for being this year's recipients of ETAI's Lifetime Achievement
Awards. We wish them many years ahead of continued success!
Finally, we would like to thank all of you who came from near
and far, gave up a day of Hanukah with your families and joined
us to share ideas, friendship and mutual support at our annual
ETAI conference in the sunny South! We look forward to sharing
future conferences with all of youu
With warmest best wishes,
The ETAI Winter Conference Committee
