The words of the song

To the word bank and glossary
 

1. Ask for an example of the Past Simple. (Elicit sentences using past simple. I f possible, let them make up a silly story. )
 

2. From examples on board, elicit basic rules for past simple.
(When it is used, WHY it is used, etc.)

3. Hand out cloze version of song. Listen once through - they fill out as much as they can.

4. Hand out levels 1 and 2 of verb sheets. (Ask them which level they prefer). Have them fill them out, and according to the sheet, they must go back and read the song, trying to fill in more words from their verb sheets.

5. Offer Glossaries to whoever wants.

6. Listen to the sing once again, fill in words you missed.

7. Discuss - what do you think this song is about?
