Assignment 1

1. Write a LETTER OF INTRODUCTION about yourself to a potential keypal. The letter will be used for this purpose.

The letter must be at least three paragraphs in length. Each paragraph must be devoted to a different sub-topic. Choose from the following sub-topics:
my family, my interests and hobbies, life at school, life in the boarding school, living in Jerusalem, music, movies and books, any other subject that you think will be interesting.
2. You must use a spelling check. The letter must be checked for spelling and grammar before you send it.
3. You must save the letter as a WORD document on your own diskette and print a copy to be handed in.
4. You must include your own e-mail address in the body of the letter.
5. In the SUBJECT box you must write: "T3 <Your name> A Letter of Introduction"
6. Send the letter to me (Jack Pillemer) to the address below:

At the same time, send a copy to another address:

7. Write a few lines about what you have learned from this assignment or what you have enjoyed doing. Write what you still have to learn to do regarding the use of e-mail. Add this to the bottom of your WORD document.

Assignment 2

1. Read any interesting article in English or in Hebrew of approximately 400 words or more.

You may also take two related articles from Hey There! or any other simplified English newspaper. You could do the assignment on "Baby X". (Come to me if you need help in finding something suitable.)
2. Prepare a POWERPOINT presentation of at least 5 slides (in English!). This presentation will help you present your ideas on whatever you have read. You may speak in Hebrew if you feel it is impossible to do it in English.
3. You will talk to the class for 3-5 minutes using your presentation to stress your points.

Assignment 3

A.

1. Find an article on the internet that interests you.
2. Move the article into WORD. Write the URL of the article at the top of the article.
3. Find a suitable picture/image from the internet (*.gif)
4. Move it to WORD. Write the URL of the picture/image below it.
5. Edit the article and format it so that it is not longer than one page and so that it looks aesthetic and is easy to read.
6. List the number of words in the article. (Hint: Tools, Word count...)
7. Save your work onto a diskette

B.

1. Make up a word search puzzle for the article (10X10) by using a table.
2. List the words that can be found in the word search puzzle. They must be in alphabetical order. (Hint: Table, Sort text...)
3. Mark these words in the article in any suitable way. (Font, color, italics etc.)
4. Write 3 multiple choice questions about the content of the article. (Use automatic numbering.)
5. Save your work onto a diskette
6. Print the article, word search and multiple choice questions.
