Course Name: The Computer as a Teaching Tool
in the EFL Classroom (Semester 1, in-service course)

The aim of this course is to acquire skills
for navigating, evaluating and using the wide range of resources the Internet
has to offer as well as learn to evaluate CD-ROM simulations,
reference encyclopedias etc. and incorporate the computer in the English
lesson in school.
Planned
CALL courses at the Computer Centers at the Marpad Herzelia, Marpad Tel
Aviv and Hankin College Holon.
Each center will offer two courses:
1) The use of open tools (word and power
point) implemented in the English lesson.
2) Internet implementation in the English
classroom, including search strategies for the teachers and developing
projects for the pupils, based on Internet.

The aim of the course is to help teachers
become proficient in the use of the Internet and related technologies,
to facilitate the learning of English through the Internet and to develop
class lessons and mini projects based on Internet research.

The course will take place in Jezreel Valley
College on Mondays. A similar course will be given in the Ibleen Teachers'
center.
