HANUKAH NIGHT’S ALL RIGHT FOR LIGHTING

                                       / by Shlock Rock

Well,   The Syrian Greeks said                         éåðéí ñåøéí

‘You can’t do no bris’                                      áøéú îéìä

To observe was not permitted here,      ìùîåø îöååú,     îåúø

When the second Temple was defiled a lot,      áéú î÷ãù ,  çåìì=çéììå àåúä

Become a Pagan or your death was near,            òåáã ò'æ,     îååú

Well now I’ll talk about an army named the Macabees

Whose mission was now very clear,                    îùéîä,  áøåø

They resisted as Jews,                                  äúðâãå ë-

And didn’t take abuse                                                                       äùôìä

Outnumbered but they had no fear!                   áîéòåè

                    chorus

Oh now every future generation               ãåø

Celebrates throughout the land,              çåââ,      áëì ä-

Cause Hanukah night’s all right for lighting,   îúàéí,  ì'îãìé÷éí'

Eight nights is the lighting din.                ãéï

When they found the oil, there was no supply,       àñô÷ä

But you know it lasted for eight nights                   äñôé÷

Cause Hanukah night’s  the festival of  lights,

Hanukah night’s all right, all right to light, oooooh!

The Menorah’s on the window and when it’s right,

Light ‘em from the left and set ‘em up from the right,    ñãø àåúí

You can’t use the candle light in case you want to read,   áî÷øä ù---

It can be lit by every member of your family!                  ðéúï ìäãì÷ä

Light Hanukah candles before Sabbath night,

But they have to last thirty minutes into the night

When the Sabbath ends you know Menorah's lit last ,     ðãì÷ä àçøåï

Give me Havdalah first and then the lighting task!     îùéîú ä -

                    chorus

sing: Hannukah, Hannukah Hannukah night’s all right!

  ·  How many laws about Hanukah can you  find in this song?

  ·   List them!  (I found 8)

  ·  Choose 4 lines to chant or sing!

Happy Hanukah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
