Introduce myself and describe my education: 4 years of bachelors degree in biology, followed by 2 years studying for my nursing degree, 4 years as nurse in Heder Layda, Masters degree in Midwifery from the Univ. of Minnesota, and 22 years working as a midwife. Masters Thesis: the relationship of place of birth to birth outcomes and satisfaction. II. Exploring participants knowledge about childbirth: a. Do they plan to have children? b. Have they ever watched a birth? c. Have they ever watched a birth on television? d. What do they think birth would be like? e. Are you afraid of giving birth? f. Would they be interested in being a midwife? A birthing coach? III. Unforgettable birth a. In my 22 years of interviewing women, I have never met a woman who did not remember every detail about her birth. Birth is a big part of a woman's story. Birth is a big challenge in her life and a big accomplishment once it is completed. b. Birth is painful. Fear is natural. Is there a way to overcome the fear of childbirth? Yes, Education Is there a way to avoid the pain of childbirth? Yes, but it is different for each woman. Describe some options for lessening pain.
